Question 1. What is a Relief Fund?

Answer:

  • A reserved sum of money saved or invested as a form of social welfare aid to those in need. It is also a kind of public help in the form of money, food, clothing, shelter, or medicine, provided to people who are temporarily unable to care for themselves. In this case, we are dedicating his fund to medically challenged Muslims and orphans in order to ease their situation.

Question 2. Why was OMCF set up?

  • To provide funds for Muslims who need financial assistance for medical treatment home and abroad.
  • To cater for Muslim widows who do not have a means of sustenance.
  • To provide for orphans.
  • To relieve Muslims who are constantly being approached for funds in this kind of campaign.
  • To provide a platform whereby every individual, rich or poor, can contribute to the cause of Allah.

Question 3. Why should I participate in this program?

Answer:

  • People go a long way to seek opportunities to seek reward from Allah (swt) for any good deed. Now, the opportunity is knocking your door and it’s up to you to either take advantage of this opportunity for a nominal sacrifice or leave it.
  • Just a token sum every month from you will save the precious souls of Muslims, ease the affairs of Muslims and earn you an unending reward from Allah!

Question 4. How can I contribute to the fund?

Answer:

  • Just pay your monthly contribution into the OMCF account. The account details are as follow

Question 5. Why is there no limit (minimum or maximum) to the donation?

Answer:

  • We have kept it open so that everyone can participate.
  • Rich people who can donate hundreds or thousands of naira should not be the only ones getting the benefit of sadaqah.
  • People who are less rich should not be deprived of sadaqah. They should also have the opportunity of donating some of the bounty given to them by Allah (swt).
  • In this way individual, rich or poor and young or old, can contribute for the benefit of the Ummah and receive perpetual reward from Allah (swt).
  • No amount will be considered too small.

Question 6. Can contributions be made on behalf of others?

Answer:

  • Yes, you may contribute monthly on your behalf, on behalf of your parents, on behalf of your loved ones, as well as on behalf of the poor who can’t afford even a kobo per month.
  • This will ensure multiple perpetual rewards for the donor as well as reward to those on behalf of whom the donation is made, Insha-Allah.

Question 7. Is N200 (for example) per person per month enough to generate sufficient funds for the needs of the Ummah?

Answer:

  • Yes. The strength of this fund lies in the number of contributors and not in the amount contributed.
  • If 500 people contribute N200 per month, we will be having N100, 000 per month, which amounts to N1.2 million a year. This will go a long way in achieving the aims of this fund.

Question 8. Who will control these funds?

Answer:

  • The endowment committee setup by the MSSN Ilorin Central Branch will manage these funds. However, the MSSN Ilorin Central Branch is the main body to oversee these funds.

Question 11. Is there a by-law under which the activities of these funds will be managed?

Answer:

  • Yes, currently, our by-law is under review by experts and will be made public soon.
  • It will soon be presented to the executives of the Central Branch for their approval.

Question 12. Why monthly contribution and why not yearly contribution?

Answer:

  • It is easy for most donors to donate a small amount at a time rather than a big amount at one time.

Question 13. Will Oasis Muslim Care Fund accept yearly donations?

Answer:

  • Yes.
  • However, it is encouraged to donate monthly for reasons mentioned above.

Question 14. Why not cash contributions?

Answer:

  • OMCF wants to maintain full accountability.
  • It is necessary to maintain a record of who is donating and how much with full proof.
  • This is done to safeguard the integrity of the program.
  • Proper records will be there in the event anybody wants to check.
  • Cash donations will not provide such means of accountability.

Question 15. What is the guarantee that the contributions received will be safe?

Answer:

  • There is no way to say that funds will be totally safe.
  • However, all contributions are made in the name of Allah (swt). Insha-Allah it will not only be safe but we should expect it to flourish.
  • The people managing the funds are trustworthy Muslims and the organization that established the fund (MSSN) is well known.

Question 16. How safe will the funds be?

Answer:

  • At regular intervals, we shall publish details of our financial activities and amount disbursed to beneficiaries.

Question 17. How will OMCF provide the funds to the Muslims in need of them?

Answer:

  • We will provide a form which can be downloaded from our website or can be emailed to the prospective beneficiaries. They will be expected to provide well-detailed information about their condition and this will be verified by our members and other experts whom we will call on at such instances. If a beneficiary’s claim is certified as valid, he/she will then be given an amount that would be agreed upon between OMCF members and the executives of the MSSN. Accountability is an essential part of Islam and we will do our utmost to achieve this-insha Allah.

Question 18. In what other ways will OMCF assist Muslims in need?

Answer:

  • Our assistance to Muslims will take a holistic approach as we will not stop at providing funds alone. Presently, we are meeting with Muslims in various spheres of life that can provide assistance to Muslims in form of volunteerism and other ways. More information on this will be provided soon.

Question 19. How will the funds flourish?

  • Insha Allah if the programme becomes a success and we happen to receive large donations, OMCF committee will invest part of the funds in a venture which will be agreed upon with the executives of MSSN Ilorin Central Branch. Such a venture may include investing in Islamic ethical funds management companies like Lotus Capital and other halal investments.

Question 20.Would it be possible for the donors to find out the progress of the endowment fund any time during the year?

Answer:
